I Left My Heart in Amsterdam
It’s hard to explain why, since we saw so many great places last September, but my favorite place was Amsterdam. At this point, I was all pictured-out, so there’s not much to show you, although I also bought a Diana Baby (for my birthday!), but have yet to process the 110 film.
What can I say about Amsterdam?
It was such a beautiful place, with so many pleasant people. Coming from Italy, where people could be a little brash and loud at times, we were taken aback by how pleasant and laid-back everyone here was. The whole topography of Amsterdam was so charming, and I loved seeing the house boats lining the sides of the canals. The sun just seems to beam down on this place, but it still looks crisp and beautiful instead of how warmly the sun touches the Philippines. Agh, I just love how the light hits Europe. It just makes everything gleam.

The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer
These Nutella waffles were so, so good. And they have these things they serve with coffee called candy cookies or something like that, and I loved them so much.
One of the Iamsterdam signs. :)
My birthday breakfast! I had a wonderful chive bagel. Ah, Amsterdam. I miss you a whole lot.

Your sister and I have the same top, Gap? Haha. Cool.
I think H&M :)
AMSTERDAM. <3 The Milkmaid! (Johannes Vermeer is my favorite Dutch painter. I love Girl with the Pearl Earring kahit na overrated na yun) Chive Bagel. The lighting!
Time to move to Amsterdam!
I love how he’s so celebrated despite being the opposite of prolific. He’s just so dang good!
And yep, that’s exactly what it means!
[...] whole family fell in love with the place. Funny thing, when I went to my sister’s site to steal photos from her, I saw that she had the same title as mine. HAHA that’s the [...]
:D :D :D :D
I’m dutch, I’m dutch!!! WOOO. My daddy was born in Amsterdam.
Ok I stop now.
Does this mean that when I eventually kidnap you, if I take you to Amsterdam, you’ll stay? 83
Question: did you eat puffetjes?
AH SO JEALOUS. I had the grandest, shortest time in Amsterdam. <3
And yes, that is what it means.
Answer: No, what are those :(
I’m practically jealous of myself (it hasn’t quite sunk in yet, I think)! Amsterdam is such an adorable city, it really is. And it helps that everyone there is so friendly and accommodating :) I hope you get to go back someday, and stay longer.
They’re like tiny little pankcakes (about the size of a tablespoon spoon) that you eat sprinkled with icing sugar. I was just trying to think of typically dutch things to eat, and that was the first that came to mind (after salted herring, but I personally had no desire to slither raw fish down my throat)
Whoa! I didn’t try that! I had some waffles though and a really flat pancake that’s almost as thin as a crepe! Both were very good but I prefer the waffle. :)
Waffles be awesome, I don’t blame you!
