Film Diary: Shoegazing

in which i want to stop being a whiny amateur

Some of the photos I took of my feet this year, which funnily enough chronicles some of the places that I’ve gone to. It’s a bit harder to bring myself to take photos lately. Earlier this year, my friend Joey and I were talking about photography but our trains of thought diverged when he said that once you hold a camera, you can’t put it down just as I was thinking about how I can’t seem to find anything I want to take pictures of.

“I tried taking pictures, but they were so mediocre. I guess every girl goes through a photography phase. You know, horses… taking pictures of your feet.” — Charlotte, Lost in Translation (2003)

I had these rolls processed together, even though they were taken in a span of seven months. What I’ve come to realize is that sometimes, it’s nice to look down, too.
