Just-Because Give-Away.

So, today, I snapped out of my hermitic ways and went to the bank to pay stuff and deposit other stuff. I also had lunch with my parents. Needless browsing through Fully Booked led me to one of my favorite books that I, and it seems, everyone else, can’t find in the Philippines. (I also watched Kick-Ass, but that’s another story.)

Surprise!
I read John Green’s “Looking for Alaska” late last year when a gracious Mr. Villa sent it over for me. I (and the rest of Tumblr) have been raving about this, but they’re not so easy to find here. ANYWAY.
Here is where you come in.
» WHAT YOU DO: Comment with what you want your last words to be. I don’t want an entire paragraph or a novella, okay? Make it short & sweet & yours.1 Only one entry per person, please.
» DEADLINE: I’m leaving this post up until April 30th, then I’m going to pick the winners.
» ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcing & e-mailing the winners on May 1 on Nothing Spaces. Remember to enter with a valid e-mail so that it’ll be easy for me to contact you.
» PRIZES: ONE copy of John Green’s “Looking for Alaska” & FIVE consolation prizes.
There! That’s basically it. I’ll be leaning towards Filipino-based answers, because the book is hard to find here & I’m iffy about mailing it because I’ve had several packages that have gotten lost in the mail, but I will still consider international answers anyway.
OKAY. Let’s see where this goes.

1 Famous people’s last words are an important part of the book. I thought it fitting to be some sort of criterion for this contest.

I know it is sort of corny, cheezy and all. but my last words:
‘Live for me’
“Je Ne Regrette Rien” (I regret nothing). Dati ko pa kasing gusto magkatattoo, and that’s what I’ll have done as soon as I legally can. I figured it fits me well, parang I lived a life worth living. :)
I lived.
My last words:
Now, I can finally rest; sleep as much as I want without worries, pain, sadness, and sufferings, because today, when I close my eyes these things will disappear and happiness will start upon opening my eyes in the next life.
“i have fought a good fight. high 5 life!”
Well I would suck but I love blog contests so here:
“All we ever wanted was to fly.”
I die happy because i know that while i was here i loved immensely, cried between clenched teeth, felt agony, felt joy, felt loved, felt proud. I saw things and they saw me.
I can jump that far.
have you ever wondered what heaven looks like? Hell no, i don’t.
Remember all those times I never said “I love you” because I thought three words were meaningless? It turns out that waiting for them on the tip of your tongue only makes them mean more.
i’m not afraid anymore
it’s been great, but i’m going somewhere greater now.
I’m going to wake up awesome.
Just bought my own copy at Fully Booked Gateway. A tip: Sometimes they don’t keep it in Fiction A-Z, and you’ll find in the Young Adult section. :)
“Why do you weep? Did you think I was immortal?”
Because I love Louis XIV.
“It was one hell of a ride…”
“This can’t be my last words, I haven’t read John Green yet!”
My last words would be:
“I’m a little afraid but I am starting to get excited for my new adventure. I hope I can bring a camera with me though! I’ll definitely miss everyone.”
My last words would be:
“Don’t feel bad for me, just remember me as a good person.”
P.S. I’ve been looking for a copy of this at several bookstores, but sadly the only way I could have it is to purchase it online. Which is impossible because I’ve no credit card. Anyway, please let this book be my birthday gift. :)
“all that was lost will be found again”
“I don’t know what to expect, but I’m looking forward to have a halo. It would make such a convenient reading lamp.”
I have a plane to catch.
My last words
I’m sorry and thank you
Last words: I am happy, please don’t cry. I love you.
“I’ll save you a seat, my love.”
‘Coz I’m a cheeseball like that.
Kthnxbye!
“HEEELLLLPPPP!”
I believe this really is gonna be my last word.
“I hope to see you soon.”
Yay, hope I win, been looking for a hard copy of that book.
My last words would be: Fine time.
oooh. wait… ahhhh…. kthanksbaii.
“Is heaven as awesome as having a copy of that book in your hands with it’s freshly opened smell coming off the pages? Because if it is, well, I don’t know which one to choose. Let’s see which comes first…” *last breath*
//
Hoooraaay! I’m reading a pdf file of this book & I can’t believe it only has 88 pages! I need THE BOOK itself! \:D/ This is so cool ;)
“Death is only the next great adventure.”
“So this is what Ian Curtis, Kurt Cobain, Sylvia Plath, Ernest Hemingway, Sid Vicious, Van Gogh, and Marilyn Monroe was raving about? Gadmni–”
Most likely I will squeeze the hand of the one closest to me, smile, and say, “It’ll be okay”..
Hanggang dito na lang at maraming salamat.
“here we go”…
“So many adventures couldn’t happen today. So many songs we forgot to play. So many dreams are swinging out of the blue ”
Two hundred sixty-five things I wanted to do. Thirty-eight things I wanted to be. And all I ever did was count them. Get out there and finish your list, kid.
I’ve had an awesome run, G Man! There better be a volume 2!! *shakes fists*
“My time is up; I’ll see you on the other side. Until then, my love.”

My last words:
“I’ve been looking for a copy of John Green’s Looking for Alaska for months. Obviously, they don’t have it on any Fully Booked, Powerbooks, and Nat’l Bookstore branch here in Manila. It’d be a pleasure to have a copy of this book. I’ll be forever thankful to you. LA, please be mine!”
“go out there and make a stranger smile. and thanks. for everything.”
the smallest, randomest act of kindness on the street were always the ones that brought the biggest smiles to my faces. and i want that to live on, because we all need some more happiness in the world. i may be leaving, but there’s billions out there who need that smile. so why waste your time crying over poor little me, when my time is due?
How can I be so stupid? Last words?? Here, this is my entry:
“To God, my confidant
To BB, who would have found the brilliant solution in a flash.
To Chrysse, who has known the importance to a girl of a Salvatore Ferragamo bag.
To Andrea, from whom I have no secrets. Well, not many.
To Faith and Charity, in celebration of being sisters.
In memory of the girl that owned the hearts of many, Hope Pangilinan, whose spirit infuses every space of this post.
Nice to know you, goodbye.”
“You’re gonna be fine. Everything’s going to be all right.”
Pretty straightforward. I don’t think I’m going be very witty on my death bed, to be honest.
