like one of those clipper ship captains. // June 3, 2009

The reason why I haven’t been around is because I went to the beach for a week. It was there that I found out about my incapacity to be a tourist. Here is a list of things I didn’t do:

  1. Parasail, ride a banana boat, hop on islands
  2. Get a henna tattoo
  3. Get my hair braided and beaded
  4. Get so piss-ass drunk that I pass out on the beach
  5. Basically, everything someone does on vacation in Boracay.

However, I did tan myself silly and read a couple of books, so I guess, all in all, it was a pretty O.K. vacation. I even find that I would (kinda) like to go back there in the near future. Especially when the weather here in Manila is horribly grey, and while I do enjoy the general raininess, it seems a little wrong when it happens in the summer. But anyway.

I do have a plan (!) for the future of this website. But to tide you over, here are a few more pictures from the trip, after the jump, of course.

Yeah, I think I’d very much like to go back.

  2. YAY A COMMENT. <3 Haha!

HAY, yes. She’s super thin na. I’m jealous, but she works out a lot and I just watch a lot of T.V. so I guess it’s a fair trade!

  3. You and I are aligned on the “did-not-do list.” High five!

And I want to go back to Boracay as well. When it isn’t the peak of tourist season it’s actually really, really decent. :)

I love the cover image, btw. And “married to the sea” is a phrase close to my heart.

  7. Camille: High-five! I went when there weren’t a lot of people, so I’m really thankful for that. Thank you! I’m sure you know this, but I’ll say it anyway: it’s from my favoritest movie of all-time, Rushmore

Nikki: Hahaha not now, I guess. It’s raining like crazy! But Bora, yes, let’s du eet :D

Ryc: DIBA. Hahaha I feel so fat, but it’s O.K. Tanggap ko na!

Dani: AGH. Hi bb, thank you so much! I’m glad I always get feedback/appreshe-ashun from you. <3

  8. Oh, it’s so pretty and beachy and oceany and and and.. stuff. :3 I’d love to go someplace similar someday, but alas, it’s so far from where I live!

What did you use for the underwater pictures? I’ve had some fun with disposable underwater cameras, but Im assuming you used something digital?

  10. Hey Claudia. :) I’m sure it’ll be worth the journey, though! Beaches are lovely places to spend your time. The underwater pictures were taken by a Canon Powershot something. My sister bought an underwater case for it. They’re kind of expensive when put together. Olympus has a nice underwater model, though. :)

DENDEN. I’m glad! You guys deserve a longer summer break!
