My dad, my siblings, and I contributed to Fred Perry’s Rebel with a Cause, a “food and art charity throwdown” for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban. From December 12-14, 2014, everyone was invited to bid on an art auction and sample many, many different food items from some of Manila’s best restaurants today. 100% of the proceeds go to charity. I know the event is over, but I’d just like to share the images of the art submitted by the participating artists, as well as the set-up of the Cook Off.
The art pieces were on display at Univers. I’m not sure how long they’ll still be up, but they’ve been there since last weekend.

Carina Santos. Mano said they thought it was a turkey. :( Hahaha.
I’m not sure if you can still bid on these, but anyway, those were the items up for auction. We only got to pass by the food fair on the last day, Sunday, since we were at The Mona Lisa Project in Solaire on Friday and Book Ends at Blanc on Saturday.
I didn’t have the good sense to take a photograph the stubs they gave out to purchase the food (kinda like in high school fairs), but here’s an Instagram photo from Dan Matutina, who we ran into over there. Hi Dan! :)
I had a Ginger Beer, and a Cold Brew from EDSA BDG.
We also had paella from VASK (we stole our Mom’s, more like, ahhh) and crab meat spring rolls from Spring.
… I think you can tell which booth was my favorite. All in all, great fun for a good cause. :) Congratulations to the Fred Perry family!
